EDGE: Early Development for Gender Equity
SOJOURN’s EDGE program is for anyone who spends time with young children, such as Jewish preschools, day schools, Hebrew schools, camps, or parent groups.
EDGE educates participants on the harmful impact of rigid gender stereotypes and importance of counteracting gender bias in the classroom and at home. This multi-faceted program with educators, parents, and students includes games, stories, art, film, and song to address the infinite possibilities of gender equity.
If young children never learn gendered stereotypes, they are free to develop into the person they know themselves to be.
