Pride Festival and Parade

SOJOURN coordinates the Jewish community’s participation in Atlanta’s annual event. In 2018, 54 Jewish organizations participated, with 500 people marching together. This is one of the most visible ways the Jewish community supports people who are LGBTQ.

Speakers

SOJOURN brings in dynamic speakers to share their wisdom way beyond our typical base. SOJOURN has twice hosted Dr. Joy Ladin for nine events. Joy is the first – and still only – faculty member who transitioned their gender at an Orthodox university. We are also bringing children’s singer/songwriter Chana Rothman to Atlanta in November 2019. Chana engages children of all ages through dynamic music with a focus on gender diversity and equity.

LGBTQ Guide to Jewish Atlanta

In 2016 SOJOURN developed a guide to share with the community to highlight the welcoming services and programs that 54 Jewish organizations provide. We are updating the Guide to be published in the Fall of 2019.
