Pathways to Progress: Creative Jewish Advocacy & Resistance
In this edition of our Pathways to Progress Virtual Speaker Series, we will joined by the incredible Rabbi Elyse Wechterman to explore how Judaism informs our approach to organizing and movement work. We'll talk about how we use Jewish tradition and teaching to ground us personally in this work, and how we creatively bring Judaism into public-facing advocacy in impactful ways. In our current moment of overlapping crises, including for the queer and trans community, we'll draw on the deep well of wisdom our LGBTQ+ and Jewish communities have built up through our efforts at tikkun olam. Georgia Pride to the Capitol 2026
On March 10, SOJOURN will join our friends at Human Rights Campaign Georgia for Pride to the Capitol, Georgia's annual LGBTQ+ legislative advocacy day. Join us for a day of action beginning at Atlanta City Hall and ending at the Georgia State Capitol for an advocacy training, rally and assisted legislator contact. A free breakfast and lunch will be provided with your RSVP. Visit this link to RSVP to our friends at HRC and let them know you'll be there!
We love showing up at the Georgia Assembly every year, not just as passionate LGBTQ+ advocates, but as Jews! Faith voices hold power in the South, and together, we have the unique opportunity to show that Judaism supports queer and trans rights. If you want to be a part of our Jewish contingent at Georgia Pride to the Capitol, please fill out this additional form. We'll send you Jewish talking points on Georgia's LGBTQ+-related bills, legislative updates, and opportunities to connect throughout our day under the Gold Dome!
